Dulce et Decorum est is the title of the most famous work by (anti)war poet, Wilfred Owen. It translates as "It is a sweet and noble thing"...and continues "Pro patria mori"..."to die for ones country". Owen was killed, "mown down by machine-gun fire" one week before the end of the war in November 1918
This work is an inquiry into the haunted landscapes of the WW1 battlefields of Northern France, especially those around Cambrai.
